Herts Police Case Study

Police recruitment social media case study

Challenge:
Increase direct job applications whilst reducing the cost per application by at least 50%.

Approach:
agency:2 devised an approach that utilised our extensive experience in social media marketing. We implemented an original campaign starting with social media monitoring that evolved into a strategy that included conversational posts on forums and seeding of videos that facilitated an overwhelming flow of direct applications.

Social media can be regarded as a form of online marketing that allows for a broad reach but we delivered a campaign that had no waste and was supremely effective. Communications were at the local and regional level, generally within a 50 mile radius of Hertfordshire.

Results:
The number of applications increased by 240% whilst the cost per application reduced by 90%
The results demonstrate the power of social media channels as a valuable tool for the police, recruitment in general and the public sector.

agency:2 has been shortlisted for the Innovation in Social Media Award 2009 by Econsultancy based on this campaign.
